WIKE PRAISES OKOWA FOR BACKING TINUBU, CALLS IT VINDICATION OF 2023 POSITION
Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has commended former Delta State Governor and 2023 PDP Vice Presidential candidate, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, for publicly endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Wike described the move as a significant affirmation of the President’s leadership and a validation of his own decision to support Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.
In a statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike said Okowa’s endorsement, despite his former position as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate, reflects a growing recognition of Tinubu’s commitment to national unity and development. He praised both Okowa and current Delta Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for taking what he called a “bold and timely” decision.
“I commend Dr Okowa and Governor Oborevwori for this heartwarming decision. It shows that more people are beginning to acknowledge the good governance of President Tinubu and the direction he is taking the country,” Wike said. “This is exactly what I saw before the 2023 election that informed my position, and I am glad others are now seeing it too.”
Wike urged other Nigerians, especially those still undecided, to lend their support to the President, insisting that the move would enhance the Niger Delta’s chances of benefiting more from the current administration.
