Governor Umo Eno has celebrated Jason Utitofon Jackson, Mayor of Islington, United Kingdom, as a shining example of Akwa Ibom excellence and an inspiration to young people. The governor received the mayor, his family, and associates at the Governor’s Lodge in Uyo as part of the state’s 38th anniversary events.
Governor Eno praised Jackson for achieving political success in the UK and for returning home to identify with his roots. He described the mayor as an ambassador for the state whose accomplishment proves that Akwa Ibom youths can reach global heights through focus and dedication. He urged the mayor to partner with the state in organizing educational tours for rural children to broaden their horizons and inspire them to dream big.
Mayor Jackson expressed pride in his Akwa Ibom heritage and lauded the governor for the state’s transformation. He pledged to continue making the state proud abroad and acknowledged the importance of leadership in creating opportunities.
