The Federal Government is set to establish a Soil Assessment Laboratory in Ido/Osi Local Government Area, Ekiti State, marking the first of its kind in the South West region.
Ekiti State Commissioner for Agriculture, Ebenezer Boluwade, announced this on Tuesday, stating that the lab would help farmers access soil testing services locally, eliminating the need for trips to private labs in Ibadan or abroad.
The initiative, a partnership between the Ekiti State Government and the Ministry of Agriculture, aims to boost agricultural productivity and food security in the state.
Boluwade praised President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji for supporting agricultural interventions, including farmland expansions and the provision of agricultural inputs.
