Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has expressed confidence that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will overcome its current challenges and emerge stronger.
Speaking in Ibadan on Sunday 2nd February during a condolence visit to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde over the death of his elder brother, Lawal acknowledged the difficulties facing the PDP but emphasized that such challenges are part of politics.
“Politics comes with its ups and downs. The events in Delta just two days ago show that we are making efforts to reconnect with the people and regain national leadership,” Lawal said.
He assured that PDP governors are united in their resolve to strengthen the party. “As governors, we are leaders within the party. Our decisions will shape the way forward. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the PDP; this is just a learning curve.”
Lawal also described Governor Makinde as a close friend and emphasized the importance of solidarity during difficult times. “Death is inevitable, and we are here to comfort him and his family.”
