DANGOTE EXPORTS JET FUEL TO SAUDI ARAMCO

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has achieved a significant milestone by exporting two shipments of jet fuel to Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil producer. This landmark achievement underscores Nigeria’s growing influence in the global energy sector.

The announcement was made by Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, during a visit from the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) to the Dangote Fertiliser Limited and Petroleum Refinery in Lagos on February 4, 2025.

Niyi Yusuf, NESG Chairman, commended Dangote’s $20 billion refinery as a symbol of ambition, urging more domestic investments to drive Nigeria toward becoming a $1 trillion economy. Yusuf highlighted the refinery’s transformative role, turning Nigeria from a petroleum importer to an exporter, while stressing the importance of local industries in fostering economic growth and security.

In response, Dangote reiterated the private sector’s critical role in addressing national challenges, particularly through job creation and industrial development. He emphasized the need to protect local industries from excessive import reliance, citing global practices as examples.

Since production commenced in 2024, the refinery has increased output to 550,000 barrels per day, firmly establishing Nigeria as a petroleum exporter.
