LADY HELEN OBAREKI SPREADS LOVE AT CHILDREN’S HOME

The Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, marked the first anniversary of the Golden Initiative for All (GIFA) with a compassionate visit to the Special Care Children’s Home in Uyo on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

Bearing gifts, toiletries, and food supplies, Lady Obareki, represented by Dr. Itoro Etim of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, encouraged the children to view their current situation as a stepping stone toward success.

“You have a bright future ahead. Stay focused and never lose hope,” she said, assuring the children of ongoing support from GIFA, founded by the First Lady, Pastor Patience Umo Eno.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, represented by Mrs. Diana Henry, expressed gratitude but highlighted the poor state of the home, which urgently requires renovations, more staff, and medical supplies.

Miss Esther Friday, a 100-level University of Uyo student, expressed appreciation on behalf of the children, calling Governor Umo Eno and Lady Obareki “true parents” for their continued support.

The visit, attended by several female leaders, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the well-being of vulnerable children.
