The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, has called on former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu Abubakar, to return to the party following his defection after the party’s primary election.
Wadada made the appeal during a thanksgiving visit to Governor Abdullahi Sule, alongside APC leaders, political appointees and supporters in the state.
He said Adamu’s return would strengthen unity in the party and contribute to the development of Nasarawa State, stressing that political participation should be driven by the interest of the people rather than personal differences.
According to him, political rivalry should not divide leaders, insisting that all stakeholders share a common goal of advancing the state.
Governor Abdullahi Sule, speaking at the event, also urged political actors to avoid hostility, saying opponents in the election are not enemies but partners in development.
He called for calm and respectful engagement as the state prepares for the next phase of political activity, stressing that unity remains essential for progress.
The governor described Wadada’s visit as symbolic and historic, expressing confidence that the APC candidate would succeed him as governor.
He congratulated all APC candidates who emerged from the primaries, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and praised the party’s cohesion in the state.
Governor Sule also said he would not interfere in appointments if Wadada wins the election, but warned that he would offer criticism if governance goes off track.
He further noted that the incoming administration would benefit from improved state revenue and urged Wadada to build on existing achievements while doing even better.
