Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering people-oriented projects in line with the ARISE Agenda.
On Friday,21st February, the Governor, represented by his Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Rt. Hon. Udo Kerian, commissioned a Model Primary Health Centre in Abiakana, Ika Local Government Area, and another health center in Udung Uko Local Government Area. These projects are part of the state’s one-project-per-local-government scheme to improve healthcare access.
Governor Eno emphasized that the new facilities were fully equipped to provide quality healthcare and reduce the need for residents to travel long distances for medical attention. He assured that more projects were underway, with several already near completion.
At Udung Uko, the Governor, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Patrick Essiet, highlighted the administration’s vision to strengthen healthcare infrastructure across all 31 local government areas. The Chairman of Udung Uko LGA, Elder Godwin Okponung, and other dignitaries praised the initiative, describing it as a game-changer for rural healthcare delivery.
