A tragic building collapse in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, on Wednesday 5th March afternoon left several workers trapped under the rubble, prompting urgent rescue efforts.
The incident occurred around 4:00 PM on Oriwu Street, triggering panic among residents. Emergency responders, including the police, swiftly mobilized to the site, managing to pull 14 people from the debris.
Lagos State Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that the survivors were rushed to Lagos Island General Hospital for treatment, while security personnel remained on-site as search-and-rescue operations continued.
