NIGERIA LOSES VETERAN JOURNALIST AND ADVOCATE FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT,JOLA OGUNLUSI
Veteran journalist and former National Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr. Jola Ogunlusi, has passed away at the age of 91 after a brief illness. His death, which occurred on the morning of Saturday, April 19, marks the end of a life dedicated to public service, advocacy, and journalism.
A statement signed by TV personality Gbenga Aruleba described Ogunlusi as a man of integrity and tireless commitment to justice and fairness. Beyond his journalistic career, Ogunlusi was a respected community leader in FESTAC Town, Lagos, where he championed the creation of the Amuwo Odofin LCDA and served as president of its residents association.
He also chaired the Community Development Council (CDC) in Amuwo Odofin, where his leadership left a lasting legacy. The family is yet to announce funeral arrangements but has requested prayers and support during this time of grief.
