TINUBU APPROVES CREATION OF ARMED NATIONAL FOREST GUARD TO FIGHT INSECURITY
President Bola Tinubu has authorized the creation of a National Forest Guard force to reclaim Nigeria’s forests from terrorists, bandits, and criminals who have turned them into strongholds.
Presidential aide Sunday Dare announced the initiative, saying the newly formed force will be trained, armed, and deployed across Nigeria’s 1,129 forests. The operation will be coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser and the Ministry of Environment.
The move aims to enhance national security, create thousands of jobs for Nigerian youths, and bolster efforts to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity. “We will not cede an inch of our land to criminals,” President Tinubu declared.
