NASARAWA GETS N9.75BN REFUND FOR LAFIA AIRPORT TAKEOVER
Nasarawa State has received N9.75 billion from the Federal Government as reimbursement for the Lafia Cargo Airport, now Usman Dan Fodio Airport, which was handed over in 2022. Governor Abdullahi Sule disclosed this at a stakeholders’ forum on Monday, may 19th.
The refund, Sule explained, will fund the Kwandere–Sabon Gida Road project. He praised the contributions of National Assembly members and traditional leaders, and acknowledged former governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura for initiating the airport.
In related updates, Sule announced the technical completion of the N16 billion Lafia Flyover and Underpass. While minor works are pending, the road will be opened for public use ahead of its formal commissioning by President Tinubu in June.
