TRAGIC INDIA PLANE CRASH IN AHMEDABAD CLAIMS LIVES

A devastating aviation disaster unfolded in India’s western city of Ahmedabad as Air India flight AI171 crashed shortly after takeoff, killing or injuring multiple passengers. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, en route to London Gatwick Airport, had 242 individuals on board, including 169 Indian nationals and 53 Britons.
The aircraft lost signal less than a minute after liftoff, descending at a rapid vertical speed, according to data from FlightRadar24. Eyewitnesses reported plumes of thick black smoke billowing into the sky moments after the crash.
All outbound flights from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport were immediately suspended. India’s Civil Aviation Minister, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, expressed deep sorrow, confirming that emergency teams were at the crash site and medical response had been activated.
Air India Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran called the event a “tragic accident” and pledged full support to impacted families and first responders.
Investigations into the cause are ongoing, and international aviation safety agencies have been notified.
