Popular Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yul Edochie has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to shelve premature political distractions and channel his full energy toward tackling Nigeria’s pressing issues.
In a heartfelt Instagram post addressed to the President, Edochie urged focus on the surging cost of living and worsening insecurity, rather than political maneuverings ahead of the 2027 elections. “Please don’t let politicians distract you with 2027. We’re still in 2025. High cost of living and insecurity are ravaging Nigerians,” he wrote.
Edochie, who has been an open supporter of Tinubu, also recently called for a revival of former President Buhari’s cashless policy, suggesting it helped reduce crime and inflation.
Despite his message being rooted in civic concern, it drew mixed reactions online, with many users attacking his loyalty to Tinubu. One user mocked: “You see this mandate you are standing on, you will soon have arthritis on your leg.” Another quipped, “All the curses on Tinubu, you must share inside.”
