NIGER DELTA AMNESTY LEADER PRAISES FUND BOOST FOR PROGRAMME

Emmanuel Allison, a leading figure in the Niger Delta Amnesty Programme’s third phase, has welcomed President Bola Tinubu’s approval to significantly increase the programme’s budget. Speaking in Abuja, Allison described the funding decision as a “renewed hope for transformation” in previously marginalized communities.
He praised the transparent leadership of Chief Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaru, the current Administrator of the Amnesty Programme, citing timely disbursement of stipends, scholarship awards at home and abroad—including aviation training in South Africa—and responsive engagement with stakeholders in the region.
According to Allison, expanding the programme’s fiscal capacity means more young beneficiaries—particularly women—can access opportunities in education, skill acquisition, entrepreneurship, and capacity building. He highlighted how increased funding would resolve stalled disbursements and enhance mentorship programs. “This is not just budget money; it’s an investment in lasting peace and prosperity,” he said, adding that the Amnesty Programme continues to serve as a central mechanism for social inclusion and economic stabilization in the Niger Delta.
