All eyes will be on the prestigious Papyrus Magazine State Houses of Assembly Awards (PAMSHAA) 2025, 3rd Edition, as several distinguished legislators from the Niger State House of Assembly are set to be honoured for their outstanding contributions to lawmaking and governance. The grand ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the iconic Ladi Kwali Hall, Abuja Continental Hotel.

Leading the charge is none other than the Speaker, Hon. Barr. Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji, who is slated to receive dual recognition. He will be crowned “The Masses’ Most Loved House Member”, an accolade backed by strong support from the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Niger State branch. In addition, he is set to be honoured as the “Most Progressive/Supportive Speaker in North-Central”, in acknowledgment of his unifying leadership and his impact on regional legislative development.

Several other Niger State lawmakers will also be spotlighted for their individual excellence:

Hon. Mohammed Sani Idris (Tafa Constituency) is lined up to receive two awards for “Best Member with Private Member Bill” and The best Performing Member with Impactful Motions underscoring his legislative innovation and initiative.

Hon. (Pharm.) Dr. Nasir Umar Paiko (Paikoro Constituency) will be recognised as the “Member with the Highest Number of Motions”, reflecting his active and consistent engagement on the floor.

Hon. Yahaya Abubakar Ahmadu (Gbako Constituency) is set to be honoured for putting forward the “Most Impactful Motions”, a testament to the depth and relevance of his advocacy.

Hon. Mohammed Abubakar (Dandume/Funtua Constituency) will be acknowledged as the “Best Performing Committee Chairman”, particularly for his exemplary leadership of the Committee on Rules and Business.

(Bosso Constituency) will step into the spotlight as the “Most Vocal Member on the Floor of the House”, thanks to his energetic and passionate contributions during debates.

Adding to the list of accolades, the House Standing Committee on Judiciary will also be celebrated as “The Most Effective/Productive Committee”, commended for its pivotal role in strengthening judicial processes and enhancing the state’s legal infrastructure.

PAMSHAA’s organisers have clarified that while individual members were assessed within the Niger State Assembly, the Speaker was evaluated at the zonal level within the North-Central region, where he emerged as a top-performing Speaker due to his inclusive and transformative leadership.

With top government officials, legislators from across Nigeria, and key stakeholders expected in attendance, PAMSHAA 2025 promises to be a landmark celebration of legislative excellence and impact. The countdown is officially on.
