The Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Ekerette Udoh, has pledged to strengthen ties between the government and the media for more effective communication.
Hosting the National Guild of Private Broadcast Station Managers and On-Air Personalities during a courtesy visit, Udoh underscored the importance of professionalism, urging broadcasters to avoid misinformation or using their platforms for personal disputes.
“We value the media’s role in highlighting the Governor’s programmes and the Arise Agenda,” he said. “But we urge practitioners to ensure that misinformation does not distract the public.”
Led by Chairperson Maureen Umanah, the Guild congratulated Governor Umo Eno on his achievements in less than two years and praised Udoh for maintaining cordial relations with the media.
The delegation included Elsie Udofia (Redemption FM), Sam Akpan (Comfort FM), Ubong Essien (Memories FM), Ekaette Johnny (Tang Sio FM), and Revken Ogbunehu (The Mixx FM). They presented a document outlining their objectives for deeper cooperation.
