The Executive Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Area, Hon. Glory Ekah Effiong, has launched a Basic First Aid Training Programme for ward representatives across the council area.
Speaking through the Vice Chairman, Hon. Pharm. Ukpong Okon, the council boss said the programme reflects her administration’s commitment to building safer and healthier communities.
She praised Governor Umo Eno for elevating safety as a state priority, citing the creation of the Office of the SSA on Health, Safety and Environment as a pioneering achievement.
“This training ensures that every community has someone capable of providing immediate assistance when needed. It is part of our strategy to institutionalize lifesaving capacity across Ibeno,” she said.
Participants were trained in CPR, wound management, basic life support, and structured responses to common emergencies. Hon. Effiong emphasized that safety under the ARISE Agenda is not just policy but a lived reality.
Coordinator of Lifesaving First Aid Services, Mrs. Itoro Ekpo, was commended for her efforts in delivering the training modules.
