Abuja, FCT | Monday, September 8, 2025 – The House of Representatives has issued a clarification regarding reports of a lifeless body discovered in a vehicle parked near the National Assembly Complex.
According to details provided by the Nigeria Police Force, the deceased was found inside a red Peugeot 406 car (Registration No. BWR-577 BF) at about 9:00 am on Sunday, September 7. The car had been parked close to the Annex Building Gate near the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The body, believed to be that of a labourer working at a nearby construction site, was discovered in a decomposed state, lying in a sleeping position on the back seat. Authorities have since evacuated the remains to a mortuary and initiated efforts to establish the man’s identity and notify his family.
The House leadership extended condolences to the deceased’s family and assured Nigerians that security agencies are conducting a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
