EX-BANKER LEAVES UBA JOB TO BECOME DISHWASHER IN ITALY FOR PEACE AND GROWTH

A former United Bank for Africa (UBA) staffer has revealed she left her banking career in Nigeria to start a new life as a dishwasher in Italy. Taking the social media name @freshstartdiaries, she went viral after sharing her story, which touched many.

The ex-banker said although she once had a “comfortable” salary at UBA, she sought something else: peace of mind, personal growth, and the chance to explore opportunities abroad. She explained that these values, more than income, motivated her move.

She also revealed that her decision was partly inspired by a promise to her late father, who had long wished for her to travel abroad. Sadly, he passed away 15 years ago before seeing that dream fulfilled. She said she now feels she is honouring his memory.
