FG SAYS DISENGAGED DANGOTE WORKERS TO BE REDEPLOYED

The Federal Government has assured that workers recently disengaged by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery will be redeployed to other subsidiaries within the Dangote Group, easing fears of mass unemployment.

The announcement follows labor unrest after the dismissal of over 800 staff, which led to threats of nationwide strikes. Mediation efforts by the Ministry of Labour resulted in a compromise where workers would be reassigned instead of losing their jobs outright.

Government officials said the redeployment will come with no loss in salary or entitlements, describing the arrangement as a “win-win” for workers, the company, and the economy. The move is seen as critical to averting wider disruptions in the oil and gas sector.

Union leaders welcomed the intervention but warned that they would monitor compliance closely. Dangote Group has yet to release a detailed statement on the redeployment plan.
