OKUTEPA SAN SLAMS JUSTICE SYSTEM SAYS TINUBU’S NIGERIA HAS LOST ITS MORAL COMPASS

Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), J.S. Okutepa, has blasted Nigeria’s justice system under President Tinubu, declaring that the country has “lost its moral compass” due to entrenched corruption, selective prosecution, and institutional decay.

In a strongly worded statement, Okutepa lamented what he described as a collapse of public confidence in the judiciary, arguing that the courts have become tools for the rich and powerful rather than protectors of justice for ordinary Nigerians.

He specifically pointed to delayed trials, contradictory rulings, and political interference in legal processes as evidence that the justice system is broken.

Okutepa warned that unless urgent reforms are carried out, Nigeria risks further erosion of the rule of law, which could worsen insecurity and discourage investment. His remarks have sparked widespread discussion, particularly among legal professionals and civil society groups calling for judicial reforms.
