Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has assured residents that his administration is committed to delivering quality educational projects across the state, in line with the ARISE Agenda.
During an inspection visit to the construction site of the Model Secondary School at Ikot Akpan Abia Ubium, Nsit Ubium LGA, the Governor explained that the project is part of his vision to establish modern secondary schools across the three senatorial districts.
The Governor said the walk-in visit was to assess the level of work before releasing funds. “When the bill comes to the office, I want to know if it tallies with what has been done on ground,” he stressed.
Governor Eno emphasized that projects like the school would not only boost education but also stimulate the local economy and business opportunities. He appealed to contractors to register on the ARISE Portal for transparency and accountability in contract awards.
The Delivery Advisor on Education, Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet, revealed that the facility will feature ICT centers, hostels, laboratories, a multipurpose hall, staff quarters, and a farmland.
Community leaders and Senator Effiong Bob praised the Governor for siting the project in Nsit Ubium, assuring their support and urging youths to cooperate with contractors to ensure timely completion.
