The Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), led by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in partnership with the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), has empowered 500 Akwa Ibom women with ₦50,000 grants each to support small and medium-scale businesses.
Speaking at the Government House Banquet Hall, Uyo, the State Coordinator of RHI, Lady Helen Obareki, represented by Commissioner for Women Affairs Inibehe Silas, commended the First Lady and Dr. Tony Elumelu for their commitment to women’s empowerment.
Senator Tinubu, in her message, stressed that the programme was not a loan but a grant to help women sustain their businesses. She also emphasized that empowering women translates into strengthening households, communities, and the nation.
Excited beneficiaries confirmed receiving alerts, describing the support as a life-changing opportunity. Stakeholders including WALGON, APC women leaders, and social groups hailed the initiative as a pathway to inclusive economic growth.
