FG Partners AIG-Imoukhuede Foundation to train Senior Civil Servants

The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has partnered with the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation to launch a “line managers onboarding training”, designed to equip directors of HR, staff welfare, training, career-management offices and deputies across MDAs with leadership, communication and accountability skills.

The programme builds on a 2023 foundation-backed study which found that the quality of supervision during a public servant’s early years significantly affects long-term productivity, engagement and purpose.

The two-day workshop, facilitated by public administration experts such as Dr. Aung Hein of Durham University, Prof. Isaac Obasi of University of Abuja, and Chioma Njoku of the foundation, focuses on embedding professional values and improving team performance and retention in the public service.

The training aligns with the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2025 (FCSSIP25) which prioritises professionalisation and leadership development across government institutions.

The initiative signals a push toward institutional reform in Nigeria’s public sector, recognising that human capital and effective supervision are central to government service delivery.
