The Golden Initiative for All (GIFA) extended its Back-to-School outreach to Essien Udim Local Government Area, where the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, charged students to embrace self-development, hard work, and contentment as tools for success.
Represented by Dr. Itoro Etim, Member representing Uruan State Constituency, Lady Obareki addressed students at the Essien Udim Council Secretariat, urging them to take full advantage of government investments in school infrastructure.
“Know that you are not in competition with anyone but yourself. Contentment is key. Work hard, be respectful, and take these school supplies as a motivation to focus and excel,” she advised.
The programme, led by Pastor Anne Abraham, GIFA’s team leader and Special Assistant to the Governor on General Duties, falls under the Enhanced Literacy and Learning thematic area and seeks to ensure that no child, regardless of background, is left behind.
Welcoming the delegation, Hon. Ntiedo Usoro, Chairman of Essien Udim LGA, and his wife, Mrs. Ofonime Usoro, thanked Lady Obareki for her support, describing the initiative as a major relief for parents struggling with school expenses.
The event featured goodwill messages from GIFA partners, civic leaders, and women stakeholders, as well as quiz and dance competitions. Winners received additional educational materials and cash prizes.
