Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has described his recent Distinguished Award for Excellence in Sustainable Development and Community Empowerment as a renewed call to intensify service delivery across the state. The honour, presented at the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service, was received with the governor reaffirming that the recognition reflects the collective effort of the people of Akwa Ibom.
Governor Eno, who arrived at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, to a reception by top government officials and political stakeholders, emphasised that the award represents the shared commitment and support of citizens who continue to drive the administration’s development vision. He maintained that the achievement signals the growing national attention on Akwa Ibom’s progress and serves as motivation to expand ongoing programmes.
During the briefing, the governor extended warm felicitations to the President of the 10th Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, on his birthday, wishing him good health and longevity. He reaffirmed the state’s support for the Senate President, noting that Akwa Ibom people stand firmly behind him as he continues to lead the National Assembly and pursue his legislative duties.
Among those who received the governor at the airport were the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; members of the State Executive Council; local government chairmen; captains of industry; and senior government functionaries.
