Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the multi-billion-naira Trans-Kalabari Road Project, describing it as a lifeline for riverine communities and a major step toward inclusive development.
Governor Fubara, who visited the project site alongside top government officials, revealed that over 70 percent of piling and structural work has been completed, noting that the project was on course for delivery within the stipulated 32-month timeline.
The Trans-Kalabari Road — a 12.5-kilometre stretch linking Port Harcourt to key Kalabari communities through multiple bridges and causeways — is expected to transform transportation and stimulate trade, tourism, and agriculture in the region.
Speaking during the inspection, Fubara praised the contractors for maintaining quality standards despite the challenging terrain. “This project is not just about roads; it is about reconnecting families, communities, and opportunities,” he said.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing all inherited projects while initiating new ones that would directly improve the living standards of the people. Residents of Kalabari communities have applauded the governor’s hands-on approach, describing the visit as a morale boost for contractors and workers.
