West Africa, East Africa, Southern Africa, and Central Africa – Leaders from across the continent are set to converge in Abuja for The Papyrus Global Local Government/Mayors Award and Conference (PAGLOGMA) 2026, scheduled to hold from 26th to 28th March 2026 at The Palms Hotel, located on Muhammadu Buhari Way in Abuja’s Central Business District, near Grand Square.
The three-day continental gathering is expected to convene local government leaders, mayors, policymakers, development stakeholders, and members of the diplomatic community, with a focus on celebrating excellence in grassroots governance and exchanging best practices in local administration.
Speaking on the event, Honourable Chief Doofan Damsa-Justin, Publisher and Project Initiator of PAGLOGMA, said the conference is designed to recognize and celebrate custodians of local government who are building Africa one community at a time.
“PAGLOGMA is a platform for celebrating leadership at the grassroots—the level where governance directly touches the people. This gathering will foster collaboration, learning, and recognition for those driving development across Africa’s local governments,” he said.
Participants are expected from multiple regions of the continent, including:
West Africa
Liberia, Ghana, Gambia, Togo, Cape Verde, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria-the Host Country.
