GOVERNOR OKPEBHOLO SEEKS ARREST OF NBM PRESIDENT OVER DOCUMENT FORGERY

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has demanded the arrest and prosecution of Olorogun Ese Kakor, President of the Neo Black Movement (NBM) of Africa, over allegations of forgery involving official state documents.
In separate petitions to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Ajayi, the Governor accused Kakor of fabricating documents that falsely claimed state government approval to carry out educational support activities in the Edo South Senatorial District.
condemned the act as “fraudulent and a direct assault on the integrity of the state’s administrative processes.” He revealed that some low-level civil servants collaborated with Kakor in the forgery and have already been arrested, with a full police investigation underway.
He further announced the revocation of the land title on which the NBM’s headquarters in Edo was built, linking the group to violent crimes and unlawful activities.
The state government had earlier vowed to pursue legal action against the group following its opposition to the demolition of a building allegedly used for cult-related operations. A divisional police station is to be built on the demolished site to deter further criminal activity.
In a swift reaction, the NBM described the demolition as unconstitutional, claiming the group had contributed to school renovations and humanitarian aid. The government, however, insisted that NBM must produce valid authorisation or face defamation charges.
