Traditional rulers from the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District have formally endorsed the re-election bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced at a grand ceremony held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Ikot Ekpene Sports Stadium. The traditional rulers stated that the trio have delivered commendable performance in their respective offices and therefore deserve to be returned to office for a second term.
The event drew a large gathering of political leaders and stakeholders from across Akwa Ibom State. Key attendees included Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Umo Eno, Deputy Governor Senator Akon Eyakenyi, Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Rt. Hon.
