President Alassane Ouattara has reappointed Robert Beugré Mambé as Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire, reaffirming continuity in the West African country’s executive leadership following last year’s legislative elections. The decision was formalised through a presidential decree issued on January 21, 2026.
Beugré Mambé previously served in the role from 2023 until his government’s resignation earlier this month, a procedural step in response to the December 27, 2025 parliamentary elections in which the ruling Rally of Houphouëtists for Democracy and Peace (RHDP) secured a commanding majority of seats. Following the elections, the existing government, including Mambé, resigned in line with constitutional norms.
The reappointment underscores President Ouattara’s preference for political and administrative continuity, entrusting Mambé to form a new cabinet and oversee the government’s agenda for the current term. Observers note that Mambé’s extensive public service experience, including his long tenure as governor of the Abidjan Autonomous District, positions him as a stabilising figure in ongoing policy coordination and national development efforts.
The composition of the new government is expected in the coming days, with Mambé tasked with balancing legislative priorities and sustaining momentum on key national initiatives, such as infrastructure expansion, economic reform and social policy implementation.
