Lady Helen Obareki Hails Ibeno Council Chairman’s Achievements, Inaugurates Patience Umo Eno Health Centre

The Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, has commended the Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Area, Hon. Glory Ekah Effiong, for her exemplary leadership and visionary interpretation of Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda, describing her as a beacon of effective local governance.

Lady Obareki made the remarks during the first anniversary celebration of Mrs. Effiong’s administration at Ulok Ulok Hall, Upenekang, where she also inaugurated the Patience Umo Eno Health Centre at Iwuokpom community, Ibeno.

Expressing her appreciation on behalf of her family, Lady Obareki thanked the people of Ibeno for honouring her late mother, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno, by naming the new health facility after her.

“I want to thank you so much on behalf of my family. Naming this facility after my mother is deeply touching and means a lot to us. I am sure I speak the mind of the Governor himself when I say thank you,” she stated.

She described the Ibeno Chairman as “a woman of vision and commitment,” applauding her impressive achievements and her successful domestication of the ARISE Agenda at the grassroots.

Earlier, Mrs. Effiong highlighted her administration’s Ibeno Mega Project Initiative, which focuses on infrastructure renewal, economic empowerment, and rural development. She noted that her passion for community service was inspired by Governor Eno’s inclusive leadership and the First Lady’s compassion-driven initiatives.

Goodwill messages poured in from top officials including the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Frank Archibong, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Inibehe Silas, and community leaders who all praised the chairman’s visionary leadership and commitment to service.

During the ceremony, Lady Obareki presented empowerment items and financial support to several beneficiaries and later visited the first baby delivered at the Patience Umo Eno Health Centre, presenting gifts and mother-care packages to the new mother.

She expressed joy that the facility, dedicated to compassion and care, had already begun touching lives. “This centre stands as a testament to my mother’s legacy of compassion. I pray that everyone who walks through these doors will find healing and hope,” she said.
