The Kano State Tourism Board has recorded significant improvements over the past three years under the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, according to the Board’s Managing Director, Hon. Dr. Tukur Bala Sagagi.
Speaking with journalists in his office, Dr. Sagagi said the board has undergone extensive renovation, restructuring and institutional reforms aimed at modernizing its operations and improving service delivery.
He explained that the administration has prioritized the development of the tourism sector by upgrading the board’s facilities and providing the resources needed to strengthen its operations.
According to him, some of the major achievements recorded include the renovation of the Kano Tourist Camp, refurbishment of the Managing Director’s office, procurement of operational vehicles and the provision of modern working equipment to enhance productivity.
Dr. Sagagi also noted that the board has implemented institutional reforms designed to align its operations with current standards in the tourism industry.
He further highlighted the continued celebration of the annual World Tourism Day, describing the event as an important platform that brings together stakeholders to discuss strategies for promoting tourism and attracting investment into the sector.
The Managing Director expressed appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his support and commitment to repositioning the Kano State Tourism Board, saying the administration’s investments have laid a stronger foundation for the growth of tourism in the state.
He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to promoting Kano’s rich cultural heritage, historical attractions and tourism potential while working with stakeholders to further develop the industry and boost its contribution to the state’s economy.
