Volunteer journalists, bloggers, broadcasters and creatives invited to help build a more credible Pan-African entertainment press
Africa’s entertainment industry is set to benefit from a growing network of storytellers working across the continent, as Talentz MEDIA launches the Talentz MEDIA African Correspondents Network (TMACN) — a new initiative created to promote original, ethical and credible entertainment journalism across Africa.
The network is designed to connect media professionals in different African countries, enabling stories about music, film, fashion, culture and the wider entertainment industry to be reported by professionals who live and work within the communities they cover.
According to Talentz MEDIA, the initiative is aimed at strengthening trust in Pan-African entertainment reporting while creating greater opportunities for African artists, creatives and entertainment businesses to receive fair, accurate and locally informed coverage.
Calling African Media Professionals
To build the network, Talentz MEDIA is inviting volunteers from across Africa to join TMACN as correspondents.
Entertainment journalists, bloggers, broadcasters, photographers, videographers, digital creators and other media practitioners with an interest in entertainment and cultural journalism are encouraged to apply.
Correspondents will contribute stories, reports, interviews, photographs, videos and other original media content from their respective countries and communities, helping to provide a stronger local perspective on Africa’s rapidly growing entertainment ecosystem.
The initiative was announced by Moses Akarh, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Talentz MEDIA, Ghana, who is leading the effort to expand the platform’s network of media professionals across the continent.
Building a Stronger Pan-African Entertainment Press
Through TMACN — Talentz MEDIA African Correspondents Network, the organisation seeks to create a connected community of media practitioners who can contribute to a more credible and representative African entertainment media landscape.
Rather than relying solely on stories generated from major media centres, the network will give correspondents closer to events and communities the opportunity to document developments and personalities within their own countries.
The initiative also recognises the important role that independent journalists, bloggers and digital creators now play in shaping conversations around African entertainment, culture and creative industries.
With the expansion of TMACN, Talentz MEDIA hopes to establish a reliable network of correspondents capable of bringing audiences closer to the people, stories and creative movements shaping Africa.
