Governor Umo Eno Pushes for Speedy Completion of Inom Deep Sea Port Access Road

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming the state into a leading economic hub by directing the swift completion of the 7-kilometer access road leading to the Ibom Deep Sea Port.

The Governor gave the directive during an unscheduled but strategic visit to the project site, emphasizing that the road is crucial for the seamless movement of goods and services, as well as for attracting investments to the Industrial City.

In addition to expediting the road project, Governor Eno ordered the immediate commencement of construction on the Industrial City Access Gate, Sales Offices, and the Container Terminal. These, he noted, would serve as foundational infrastructure for the deep-sea port’s operation and eventual launch.

“These key developments will mark a significant step toward making the port a reality,” Governor Eno stated, underscoring the potential of the port to stimulate industrialization, create thousands of jobs, and position Akwa Ibom as a maritime powerhouse.

He also cautioned host communities against disrupting government projects, urging them to embrace the initiative and support its timely execution for the broader economic benefit of the state.

Accompanying the Governor on the visit were Deputy Governor Akon Eyakenyi, Secretary to the State Government Prince Enobong Uwah, and other top government officials, alongside project contractors, including Engr. Aiman Saiman of Amitec Construction.

The Ibom Deep Sea Port is expected to become one of Nigeria’s most strategic seaports, enhancing trade routes and bolstering Akwa Ibom’s position in global commerce.
