Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Miss Abigail Isaac, Chairman of the Consolidated Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, the Governor described Abigail Isaac as a “dedicated and resourceful journalist” who made significant contributions to the media industry in Akwa Ibom.
“On behalf of the government and people of Akwa Ibom State, I express our deepest condolences to her family, the Chairman of the NUJ Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Amos Etuk, and indeed the larger media community in the state on this sad development,” the statement read.
Governor Eno acknowledged her invaluable role in journalism and prayed for the repose of her soul. He also assured her family and the NUJ of the government’s support during her funeral arrangements.
The media community in Akwa Ibom has continued to mourn the loss of Abigail Isaac, describing her as a leader who was committed to upholding journalistic integrity and mentoring young reporters in the state.
