FG Secures Land for New Federal University In Kaduna

The Federal Government has taken a major step toward expanding technical and applied sciences education with the acquisition of 170 hectares of land for the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, Kaduna State.

The development was confirmed by the Minister of Education, who hosted Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and Senator Sunday Katung in his office for the official presentation of the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O).

The Minister emphasized that the establishment of the university aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision for advancing STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) education. He also highlighted that the project honors education pioneers such as Chief Obafemi Awolowo, who championed free education in Western Nigeria, and Dr. Tai Solarin, a lifelong advocate for quality learning.

Governor Uba Sani was credited for playing a crucial role in expediting the land acquisition process and ensuring a seamless handover to the Federal Government. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving education in Southern Kaduna, describing the new university as a transformative opportunity for the region.

The institution is expected to boost access to specialized higher education and enhance the technical workforce in Nigeria.
