Lady Helen Obareki honoured at IBA Conference 2025

The Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, has commended the Ibom Beauticians Association (IBA) for promoting entrepreneurship and creativity among Akwa Ibom’s beauty professionals.

Speaking at the IBA Conference, Exhibition and Awards Summit 2025 held at Ibom Hall, Uyo, Lady Obareki—represented by Hon. Inibehe Silas, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare—praised the association’s commitment to skill development and youth empowerment within the creative industry.

“You are helping the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno gain traction in the beauty world. This conference marks a redefining moment for all beauty practitioners in Akwa Ibom,” she said.

She also expressed gratitude for the recognition bestowed upon her as Entrepreneurship Friendly Woman of the Year, alongside awards conferred on Governor Umo Eno and her late mother.

IBA Chairperson and Convener, Mrs. Helen Nsikak Ekong, said the conference was established to unite beauticians, encourage collaboration, and mentor young talents through skill acquisition and startup grants.

The event featured a keynote on business branding by Sir Raphael Edem, panel discussions on beauty trends, exhibitions, and an awards ceremony recognising outstanding contributions to the state’s creative economy.
