The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Monday October 27th paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Evangelist Dr. Uma Ukpai in Uyo, describing him as “a true general of faith” who had fulfilled his divine mission.
Pastor Adeboye, who was accompanied by Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, said the visit was a personal gesture to console the family of his late friend.
“Let us not mourn Dr. Uma Ukpai but rejoice that he has gone home to glory after fighting the good fight of faith,” he said.
Governor Eno thanked Pastor Adeboye for the visit, calling it a profound act of friendship and compassion.
In her response, Pastor (Mrs.) Philomena Ukpai thanked the cleric and the governor, describing her late husband as a visionary and committed servant of God who transformed lives and communities through ministry.
Dr. Ukpai, founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, was an international evangelist and humanitarian whose impact spanned over five decades.
