Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved the release of employment letters to 125 newly recruited officers in the state civil service, marking the first major recruitment exercise in 2025.
The new employees include 25 Senior State Counsel and 100 Occupational Safety Officers selected through the state’s online employment portal. According to the Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Umanah, the recruitment aligns with Governor Eno’s vision to strengthen institutional capacity and promote workplace safety.
Umanah said the exercise was conducted through a transparent and merit-driven process in line with the administration’s ARISE Agenda. He commended the Civil Service Commission for diligence and fairness in the selection process, adding that the appointments will enhance service delivery across ministries, departments, and agencies.
The Governor’s approval also fulfills his earlier pledge to establish an Occupational Safety Department — part of broader reforms to modernize the state workforce and expand employment opportunities for qualified citizens.
