A prominent traditional ruler in Akwa Ibom State has appealed for broad national support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and reform agenda, emphasising unity of purpose and collaboration to address Nigeria’s security and economic challenges.
At a gathering of the Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio socio‑cultural organisation, the monarch highlighted critical national concerns including banditry, insurgency, kidnapping and other threats to stability and growth. He praised recent federal appointments notably the selection of General Christopher Musa as Defence Minister as fitting for strengthening the country’s security architecture, and called on citizens to back efforts that promote peace and progress.
The traditional leader also commended Governor Umo Eno’s achievements under the ARISE Agenda, notably infrastructure, social welfare and tourism enhancements, and expressed approval of collaborative ties between the Akwa Ibom state leadership, the presidency and the Senate leadership, which he described as constructive for political stability and development. He encouraged greater inclusion of qualified indigenes in federal roles to reflect broad participation in governance.
In urging restraint in public discourse across political and ethnic lines, the monarch stressed that national strength derives from unity, mutual respect and commitment to collective wellbeing.
