APC Govs Sack Uzodimma As Chairman Of PGF

Hope Uzodimma, Imo State Governor

Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have reportedly removed the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum.

The decision was taken during a closed-door meeting of the forum held in Abuja on Thursday night, according to reports by Arise News. The forum, which brings together all APC state governors under the umbrella of the Progressive Governors Forum, is a key coordination platform for policy alignment and political strategy within the ruling party.

Sources indicate that no fewer than 20 of the 31 APC governors attended the meeting where the leadership change was discussed and eventually decided. However, details surrounding the circumstances that led to Uzodimma’s removal were not officially disclosed at the time of filing this report.

The meeting reportedly took place shortly after Governor Uzodimma represented APC governors at the submission of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential nomination and expression of interest forms an event widely seen as a significant party activity ahead of future political engagements.

As of now, neither the APC leadership nor the Progressive Governors Forum has issued an official statement explaining the development, leaving room for speculation about possible internal realignments within the party’s leadership structure.

The removal marks a notable shift within the influential governors’ forum, which often plays a key role in shaping consensus among APC-led states and coordinating positions on national political and governance issues.
