Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has unveiled 30 tractors, five bulldozers, 150 farm implements and a low-bed truck to drive the state’s transition from subsistence farming to full agricultural mechanisation.
Speaking at the launch in Benin City, the governor said the investment would boost food production, strengthen rural development and position Edo as a key contributor to national food reserves. He also restated his administration’s commitment to transparency and called on the Federal Government to begin steps toward questioning former Governor Godwin Obaseki over issues surrounding the Museum of West African Art (MOWAA).
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who inaugurated the equipment, praised the initiative and said the Federal Government would review the governor’s submissions, assuring that due process would be followed.
