The University of Benin will graduate 14,083 students at its upcoming convocation scheduled for November 29, Vice Chancellor Prof. Edoba Omoregie announced during the institution’s 51st and 55th Pre-Convocation and Founder’s Day briefing in Benin City.
Of the graduating students, 198 earned first-class degrees across various disciplines. Omoregie highlighted ongoing reforms, including the digitisation of student records to improve transcript processing and examination management.
He also announced the creation of five new faculties and the approval of 15 academic programmes by the National Universities Commission. The VC commended President Bola Tinubu for establishing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund and noted ongoing efforts to strengthen postgraduate studies through the upgrade of the Postgraduate School to a College of Postgraduate Studies.
