Professor Muhammad Ali Pate (CON), Minister of Health and Social Welfare, is scheduled to serve as Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker at the Papyrus Global Mayors Conference & Awards (PAGMACA) 2026.
His participation is expected to provide strong policy leadership and enrich discussions on the role of strategic communication in governance, particularly in aligning national priorities with effective grassroots implementation.
In his keynote address, the Minister is expected to underscore the importance of local government autonomy and state policing as critical pillars for strengthening governance, enhancing security, and improving service delivery at the community level.
He is also anticipated to advocate for stronger partnerships among government, the private sector, and development organisations, promoting innovative and collaborative solutions to pressing challenges such as rapid urbanisation, youth unemployment, insecurity, and climate resilience.
Organisers noted that his presence significantly enhances the profile of the conference, bringing valuable national perspective to a platform dedicated to advancing people-centred governance and sustainable development across Africa.
The Papyrus Global Mayors Conference & Awards (PAGMACA) 2026 will hold from April 29 to May 1, 2026, at The Palms Hotel. His keynote address and engagements are expected to set the tone for high-level deliberations and actionable outcomes throughout the event.
