The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has called for stronger institutional collaboration with the Edo State Government to enhance public communication, government transparency, and crisis response mechanisms.
At a meeting in Benin City, NIPR executives emphasized that public trust in government is influenced heavily by communication quality, especially at a time when misinformation spreads quickly across digital platforms.
The Institute urged the government to adopt professionalized communication structures, conduct regular public opinion audits, and implement capacity‑building programmes for state spokespersons.
The Edo State Government expressed readiness to explore technical partnerships with the Institute, acknowledging that effective communication is a key driver of modern governance.
NIPR said it is prepared to support Edo in developing communication frameworks that encourage citizen engagement, accountability, and informed public discourse.
