Old Interview Resurfaces as Chike Faces Online Speculation Over Alleged Relationship Claims

Nigerian singer Chike has become the subject of renewed online debate after an old interview resurfaced in which he spoke about his preference for dating older women.

In the interview, the vocalist explained that he is drawn to older women because of their emotional maturity, stability, and more balanced approach to relationships. He said he values peace of mind, effective communication, and reduced drama, which he believes are more common in relationships involving older partners.

According to him, maturity often brings a better understanding of emotional needs and helps build healthier romantic connections, a preference he said aligns with his personal outlook on love.

The resurfaced clip has since gone viral across social media platforms, generating mixed reactions from fans. While some users supported his views on emotional maturity over age, others argued that age does not necessarily determine stability or relationship behaviour.

The renewed attention to the interview comes amid widespread online speculation linking the singer to an alleged relationship controversy involving veteran broadcaster Frank Edoho and his former wife, Sandra Onyenucheya. However, the claims circulating on social media remain unverified.

Frank Edoho has publicly addressed the rumours, clarifying that he and his wife had already been separated for nearly two years before the recent online discussions began. He added that he has accepted the situation and is “at peace emotionally.”

Despite the clarification, the situation has continued to trend online, with blogs and social media users drawing connections between unrelated events, further fueling public debate.

So far, neither Chike nor other individuals mentioned in the speculation have confirmed any involvement in the controversy.
