The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Niger State has unveiled former commissioner Mamman Musa as its deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 general election.
Musa’s nomination was announced by the party’s governorship candidate, Mohammed Kpautagi, during a press briefing in Minna.
Kpautagi described Musa as a grassroots politician and energetic young leader with the experience needed to contribute to the party’s plans for Niger State.
Former commissioner joins ADC ticket
Mamman Musa previously served as Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Water Resources, Works, and Budget and Planning under the administration of former Governor Abubakar Bello.
Kpautagi said his running mate’s experience in government and connection with grassroots communities would strengthen the ADC’s campaign ahead of the 2027 election.
He said the party’s agenda would focus on improving security, creating jobs, strengthening the economy and providing better healthcare, education and infrastructure.
The candidate also promised that an ADC administration would address pension-related challenges and promote agricultural development across the state.
‘Election is about Niger’s future’
Kpautagi said the 2027 contest should not be treated as a battle between political parties or individuals but as a competition over who can provide better leadership for the people.
He promised an issue-based campaign centred on practical solutions rather than propaganda, describing the ADC as a platform for a “new beginning” in Niger State.
He appealed to residents to support the party at the polls, promising stronger security, improved roads, better healthcare and education, and expanded opportunities in agriculture.
Musa promises loyalty and service
In his acceptance speech, Musa described himself as a team player and pledged loyalty to the ADC leadership.
He said his nomination was both a personal honour and recognition of the people of Bosso and Niger State.
Musa described the deputy governorship ticket as a call to service and promised to work closely with Kpautagi and other stakeholders to deliver what he called realistic dividends of democracy.
He assured residents that he would not disappoint them and pledged to support the campaign’s vision of building a “New Niger” if the ADC wins the 2027 governorship election.
