The city of Port Harcourt came alive with elegance, sisterhood, and purpose as Sister for Sister Multipurpose cooporative Society limited successfully hosted its 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing together distinguished women from different walks of life for three memorable days of networking, charity, recreation, and strategic planning.
The prestigious women’s financial association, led by its President, Mrs. Timiyabode Dumbo gathered members in the Garden City from May 28th to 30th, 2026, for an event that showcased the organization’s commitment to empowering women financially while fostering genuine sisterhood for community development.
The Four-day gathering commenced on Thursday, May 28th, 2026 with the arrival of members and a warm meet-and-greet session. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as sisters reunited, exchanged pleasantries, and welcomed new members into the growing family. The opening day set the tone for what would become an unforgettable AGM experience.
On Friday, May 29th, 2026 members embarked on a charity outreach initiative, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to giving back to society. The day culminated in a grand dinner and celebration sponsored by Sister Mayoress Victoria Sam Kalagbor. The elegant evening provided an opportunity for members to celebrate their achievements, strengthen existing bonds, and reinforce the values that define the association.
The third day of the retreat, Saturday, May 30, featured a refreshing poolside swimming session, providing members with an opportunity to relax and unwind before the highly anticipated Annual General Meeting (AGM). During the AGM, members reviewed the association’s achievements, discussed future plans, explored strategies to further enhance the financial wellbeing and empowerment of women within the organization, and filled vacant positions within the Executive Committee (EXCO), thereby strengthening the association’s leadership structure.
Activities on Sunday, May 31, commenced with a thanksgiving service, where members expressed gratitude for a successful retreat and the continued growth of the association. The service was followed by a reception, which provided an avenue for fellowship, networking, and celebration among members.
The retreat concluded on Monday, June 1, with the departure of participants, bringing to a close several days of learning, strategic discussions, relaxation, and renewed commitment to the association’s vision of empowering women and promoting financial wellbeing.
